Good Morning,
China cut it`s 5-year loan prime rate by 15 BPS and this step along with easing of the Shanghai lockdown can boost sentiment a little. Asian shares rise and pull equity futures higher by app 1% off yesterdays close, the Nikkei gains 1.6% and the Hang Seng 2.3%.
The Eurostoxx 50 continues to meander the 50day moving average and has tested it multiple times.
Yesterday, Indexes closed a little lower weighed by Cisco cutting it`s outlook and falling almost 14% The S&P 500 has lost down about 18% from its record close on Jan. 3 and is very near a formal bear market.
The USD Index falls to below 103 as EURUSD rises to 1.0590, GBPUSD to 1.2475 and the JPY to 127.75.
Gold and Silver post significant gains to 1845 and 22.The USD Index is almost 1.5% loser this week,
Japan has reached it`s 2% inflation targe for the first time in 7 years on higher import costs
Canada is set to ban Huawei and ZTE Corp 5G gear to protect national security
Russian forces intensified their offensive in Ukraine's eastern Donbas region using artillery, rocket-launchers and aircraft acc to Reuters
Todays calendar is void of significant events, the EU consumer confidence is usually not a market mover so all focus will be on sentiment rather than data today.
