About Alphabet Inc. Class A
Alphabet is a holding company that wholly owns internet giant Google. The California-based company derives slightly less than 90% of its revenue from Google services, the vast majority of which is advertising sales. Alongside online ads, Google services houses sales stemming from Google’s subscription services (YouTube TV, YouTube Music among others), platforms (sales and in-app purchases on Play Store), and devices (Chromebooks, Pixel smartphones, and smart home products such as Chromecast). Google’s cloud computing platform, or GCP, accounts for roughly 10% of Alphabet’s revenue with the firm’s investments in up-and-coming technologies such as self-driving cars (Waymo), health (Verily), and internet access (Google Fiber) making up the rest.

Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL) is a U.S.-based holding company and the parent of Google and a portfolio of other technology businesses. Established in 2015 through a corporate restructuring of Google, Alphabet is headquartered in Mountain View, California. It oversees operations across a broad spectrum of internet services, hardware products, and experimental ventures.
Google remains Alphabet's largest subsidiary, encompassing platforms such as Search, Maps, YouTube, Google Play, and Android. The company also develops consumer hardware, including Pixel smartphones, Nest smart home devices, and Chromebooks. Google Cloud offers infrastructure, data analytics, and AI tools for businesses and public sector organisations.
Alphabet's other subsidiaries, collectively referred to as "Other Bets," include companies focused on autonomous vehicles (Waymo), life sciences (Verily), and high-speed internet infrastructure (Google Fiber), among others. The group structure allows Alphabet to allocate capital and talent across both core and emerging technology segments.
Alphabet is listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange.
