The most bought and sold stocks last week
Last week saw the Federal Reserve cut interest rates sending US indices to record highs even as we saw some heavy selling of several of the most popular AI stocks.
Clients were scooping up AI favourites Nvidia, Oracle, Alphabet, Broadcom, Microsoft and Palantir last week. Notable weakness in Oracle was a chance for investors to average in, whilst clients were marginally net sellers of Tesla and Amazon.
Netflix drew strong interest with 82% buys after the company made its multi-billion dollar pitch for Warner Bros.
For UK shares, Diageo took the top spot for trades and attracted 79% net buys ahead of its announcement this week that it will sell its East African Breweries business to Asahi for $2.3bn.
On the crypto front we saw Strategy drawing buying interest as its losses continued on ongoing weakness for Bitcoin and the company bought a further $980mn worth of the cryptocurrency.
