Outrageous Predictions
Executive Summary: Outrageous Predictions 2026
Saxo Group
Investor Content Strategist
The most bought and sold stocks and ETFs last week.
Clients were mainly buying into the positive big tech earnings story as they balanced a strong corporate reporting season on Wall Street with geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
Saxo clients were buyers of Nvidia, Microsoft, Apple and Micron, but they displayed a bit more nuance on Meta, Alphabet and Amazon.
Last week saw five of the Mag7 stocks report earnings. Meta shares were punished as it raised capex guidance for the year; Alphabet climbed as bumper earnings growth of +81% offset its planned increase in capex. Amazon rallied after AWS cloud growth hit +28%, the fastest since 2022, but Microsoft was a bit more muted despite strong Azure cloud growth of +40%, while Apple jumped on surging demand for the latest iPhone. Chipmakers AMD and Intel were sold, while clients were buying into Palantir ahead of its bumper earnings this week.
Among UK stocks Rolls-Royce, BP and Taylor Wimpey drew the greatest interest from clients.
In the ETF space as well as clients loading up on diversified global and US equities we saw thematic interest in semiconductors and information technology, while gold saw a burst of activity again as clients continued to look to ETFs for diversification.
Here’s a list of our top 30 most traded stocks and Exchange-Traded-Products (ETPs), including ETFs, of the last week with the percentage of trades that were buys.
