SpaceX shed its status as the most traded stock in the last week as the stock came back to earth following its stratospheric IPO. Shares ended the week down 17% allowing some re-entry points for investors who had maybe missed the IPO – Saxo UK clients remained net buyers at 74% buys.
Top spot went to Micron as shares of the chipmaker jumped following a bumper earnings update. Micron quadrupled revenue to $41.5 billion as demand for its high bandwidth memory chips surged, while profits rose 15x to $28.2 billion. Shares gained 15% on the day and ended the week +259% YTD.
Diversification remains a powerful force with top ETFs last week bought including the iShares MSCI Global Semiconductors UCITS ETF, the Vanguard FTSE All-World UCITS ETF and iShares Core MSCI World UCITS ETF.
Clients sold Intel (38% buys) and AMD (40% buys) as some heat came onto the semiconductor sector.
We didn’t see much representation from UK-listed stocks though clients were sellers of easyJet as with 19% buys on the stock, which was the 10th most traded stock last week.
