Most bought and sold shares last week
The most bought and sold stocks last week.
The Fed hiked rates last week and oil prices surged ahead of a big rally for tech names on Monday. Looking back to last week's trading activity there wasn't too much sign of confidence in Meta –which surged 11% on Monday in a blistering rally to send the Nasdaq to a record high: just 16% of client trades in the stock last week were buys.
Likewise, AMD shares rallied 10% on Monday to a hit $1tn in market cap but just 45% of client trades were buys.
Chipmaker Nvidia remained on the top spot as the most actively traded stock for a second straight week, and clients turned more bullish with 58% net buys.
Oracle dropped from second spot to seventh and clients were more ambivalent towards the stock with equal number of buys and sells.
SpaceX and Micron retained their positions in the top 5 but clients were marginally net sellers of Micron (49% buys) and only just positive on SpaceX (52% buys). Netflix re-entered the top 20, as did Coinbase, Credo Technology, AMD and AstraZeneca. Dropping out of the top 20 were Vertiv, LVMH, Rolls-Royce, BP and Rocket Lab.
Elsewhere, with tech names clearly still the preferred stocks we saw decent client demand for Intel, Netflix and Amazon.
