More on pricing and plans

When you open a Saxo account, you automatically get the Gold plan, which you can enjoy for free until 31 March 2022. You are free to switch to any other plan if it’s a better fit for your needs. Read the terms of the plan here.

Once you open an account, you can switch plans as often as you like from your account dashboard in the platform. Upgrading will take effect immediately, and your fee at the end of the month will be calculated based on the number of days you’ve been on each plan. Downgrading will take effect based on the rules below:

  • If the downgrading request is made within 30 days after the account approval date, the effective date of downgrading will be 31 days after the account approval date.

  • If the downgrading request is made 30 days after the account approval date, the effective date of downgrading will take effect at the end of the current month plus the following full calendar month.

For example:

Date of request for downgradeEffective date for downgrade
Within 30 days after account approval date31 days after account approval date
30 days after account approval date and before 1 February 2022
  1 March 2022
30 days after account approval date and before 1 March 2022 1 April 2022
30 days after account approval date and before 1 April 2022 1 May 2022

At the end of each month, we bill you based on the number of days you have been on a plan. We deduct the fee from the cash available in your account. If you have earned enough points during the month to have your plan fee waived, you get that month for free. Learn more about earning points here.
Yes. You earn points for funding your account and trading. If you earn the required number of monthly points for the plan you’re on, we will automatically waive your current month’s fee. Learn more about earning points here.

You generally pay transaction fees at the time of trade, in the form of a commission or a spread, depending on the instrument. You can see transaction costs on the trade ticket of a specific instrument.
Yes, you can subscribe on your own to a stock exchange that’s not included for free in your plan. See all exchanges you can get real-time price data on here.
You can use commission credits to cover commission costs when trading all products except FX, FX options, CFDs, CFD options and CFD indices.

Depending on the plan you are on, you can get commission credits amounting to a certain value in SGD every calendar month. If you switch plans during one month, you keep your old plan’s credits (if applicable) and get your new plan’s credits as well (if applicable). Unused commission credits don’t carry over to the following month. Learn more about commission credits here and read the terms here.

We recommend opening sub-accounts in multiple currencies if you intend to trade products denominated in currencies other than your main account currency. For instance, if your account currency is SGD and you plan to trade USD-denominated products, you should open a USD-denominated sub-account to ensure the lowest currency conversion rate available, as shown below. Click here for instructions on how to do so.

The rate used for currency conversion - of trading costs as well as profits and losses from trading activities - of amounts booked to your account is based on the mid FX Spot rate at the applicable time, plus/minus the rates shown below. The rate is shown in the trading platforms under the "Trades Executed" or the "Historical Cash Transactions" report.

The Currency Conversion fee does not apply to margin collateral. Only settlement of actual payments to or from the trading account are included, for example, buying/selling cash Stocks, paying/receiving options premium etc.

This is a fee we charge for holding stocks, ETFs/ETCs and bonds on your behalf. As a Singapore resident or a Singapore-incorporated entity you don’t pay a custody fee for holding SGX stocks and ETFs.

Based on the plan you’re on, a set custody fee may apply for holding stock, ETF/ETC or bond positions, as shown in the table above. We calculate your custody fee daily and debit your account on a monthly basis.
When you open an account you automatically get the Gold plan with no monthly fee until 31 March 2022. You also get SGD 88 extra commission credits for the first 30 days, on top of the monthly SGD 15 commission credits you commonly get on the Gold plan. Read the terms of the welcome offer here.
The 'Worth at least' values of the plans include the value of any monthly commission credit provided, plus the savings on the monthly market data subscriptions fees, included in each plan.

Savings from reduced commission fees from plans are not included, hence ‘at least’. You will save even more on commission rates on SG and US stocks, for instance, when you upgrade to a higher plan.
