Saxo Capital Markets Pte. Ltd. (“Saxo Markets”) is committed to safeguarding your privacy online and maintaining the trust of our clients. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of personal data we collect and how such data is used, disclosed, transferred and stored.
(A) DATA COLLECTION
Generally, we collect information from our clients and/or users of our website and trading platform, including:
- Personal information, which includes but is not limited to name, residential address, identification and/or passport number, biometric data, date of birth, email address, employment details, financial details, tax status, information relating to financial circumstances, investment experience, education details (collectively “Personal Data”);
- Information on geographical location for the purpose of complying with sanctions and other legal requirements;
- Traffic pattern information relating to the users on our website;
- IDFA (Apple iOS) and Google Advertising ID (primarily Android) device-based IDs.
- Information received from third‑party authentication or identity providers (such as Google or Apple) where you choose to use such services to access our platforms, which may include identifiers such as your name, email address and/or associated account identifiers;
- Records of your interaction with our platform, apps, emails, text messages and social media;
- Other electronic data or information relating to you such as IP addresses, cookies, activity logs, online identifiers and location data through your usage of our products and services or as part of their delivery to you.
Personal Data is collected when you apply for a Saxo Markets trading account (including a demo account) and through your other interactions or communications with our representatives during your relationship with us. We may also collect Personal Data through registrations, subscriptions or sign‑ups made available via our website or platforms, or when you take part in events, seminars or roadshows organised by us or in which we participate. We limit the collection of Personal Data to what is reasonably necessary and relevant for legitimate business and regulatory purposes, including the provision of our products and services.
Saxo Markets may also collect additional information, including through surveys conducted for research and feedback purposes, to improve the quality of our products and services. Personal Data collected online may be consolidated with other information provided by you through other interactions with us.
Information may also be collected indirectly through monitoring or by other means, such as recording of telephone and/or video calls and the archiving of electronic records (including, but not limited to, emails). In these circumstances, the information is not accessed on a continuous or routine basis but may be used for compliance, security purposes, training or service quality.
Traffic pattern information includes information on webpages accessed by users, and number of users who frequent our website and/or our trading platform(s), etc. Such information is anonymous and only used in an aggregated form. We also collect information through ‘Cookies’, which are further explained below.
(B) PURPOSE FOR COLLECTION, PROCESSING AND DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA
Saxo Markets may collect, use and disclose Personal Data and aggregated information for the following purposes (including, where relevant, through automated systems and AI-assisted technologies):
- To provide our products and/or services to you and to manage our relationship with you, which shall include:
- the execution or administration of any transaction(s) requested and/or authorised by you;
- the execution of bank withdrawals and/or deposits and any account‑related activities;
- the maintenance, servicing and/or termination of your account(s).
- To comply with applicable local and foreign laws, regulations and internal policies for legal and compliance reasons, including:
- the conduct of due diligence procedures for account opening and ongoing monitoring. This may involve the use of automated systems and AI-assisted technologies to support verification, screening, and risk assessment, with appropriate oversight;
- verifying your identity, conducting authentication and liveness checks, including through the use of biometric data;
- other monitoring and compliance procedures in line with our internal risk management procedures, audit, accounting and management reporting requirements;
- the enforcement of legal rights and management of disputes or claims;
- the prevention, detection and investigation of fraudulent, illegal or unlawful activities;
- disclosures to law enforcement agencies, regulators or other relevant authorities where required.
- To respond to, handle and process queries, requests, applications, complaints and feedback from you, and to record or monitor communications between you and us (including telephone calls and chat logs) for training, service quality and related purposes;
- To enhance the content, functionality and user experience of our website, platforms and/or applications, including notifying you of enhancements, upgrades or updates;
- To conduct client surveys, research and similar activities for the purposes of improving the quality and delivery of our services;
- Where you have provided your marketing consent, the following purposes also apply:
- To analyse and better understand how our products, services, platforms and applications are used, including to personalise content, features and user experience, and to present relevant information based on your interactions;
- To conduct marketing, promotional and campaign‑related activities, including personalising marketing communications, measuring the effectiveness of our marketing efforts, providing information about similar or related products or services, and conducting promotions or competitions. You may opt out of such marketing communications at any time via the unsubscribe facility;
- To collect and use device‑based identifiers for analytics and personalised marketing purposes, including via mobile applications and operating systems such as Apple iOS and Android;
- To disseminate/distribute research reports, analyses, commentaries, articles or newsletters.
- Any other purpose for which you have provided the information; and
- Any other incidental business purposes related to or in connection with the above.
Processing and Disclosure
Please note that Saxo Markets may share, process and disclose Personal Data where (i) such disclosure is necessary to perform obligations in the course of, or in connection with, the provision of services requested by you, or (ii) disclosure is made to third-party service providers, agents and other organisations engaged by us to perform any of the purposes listed above. This includes but is not limited to circumstances such as:
- disclosure to our parent company and/or group companies, who are permitted to use, process and/or disclose Personal Data for valid business or legal purposes, such as:
- the execution or administration of any transaction(s) requested and/or authorised by our clients;
- the maintenance, servicing and/or termination of our clients’ accounts;
- disclosure of Personal Data relating to your trading activities on Saxo’s trading platforms to your employer where you have agreed to or are participating in the Preferred Broker Program.
- disclosure to business partners, third-party service providers, agents, professional advisers, auditors, insurers, potential purchasers or other organisations on a need-to-know basis who would be bound by confidentiality obligations and/or are subject to personal data protection laws that are comparable to that under the Personal Data Protection Act (2012) (“PDPA”) and to the extent as set out in the agreements or otherwise permitted by law;
- disclosure to Saxo Markets’ legal counsels, accountants, auditors and any other professional consultants;
- disclosure to persons with legal/beneficiary interest to the client’s account, including persons who are acting in a fiduciary, authorised representative and/or legal capacity;
- disclosure as required by law and/or any applicable legal requirement(s) (including towards the prevention of any fraudulent, illegal or unlawful transaction, claim or liability) to governmental, regulatory and/or law enforcement agencies and/or in compliance with any judicial process and assistance rendered for any legal and/or regulatory investigations.
Please note that Saxo Markets may also share and/or disclose non-personal data in aggregated or anonymised form with third-party service providers for legitimate business purposes.
Where you have provided consent to receive marketing communications, we may also share limited Personal Data (such as your name and email address) with selected third‑party platforms for marketing and analytics purposes, in accordance with applicable laws. If you have provided your consent to receiving marketing communications, we may share information about you with Google Ireland Limited for marketing purposes. Except as set out above, Saxo Markets does not disclose Personal Data to business partners or third‑party service providers for marketing purposes without your consent. Saxo Markets does not, under any circumstances, sell Personal Data to third parties.
(C) TRANSFER OF PERSONAL INFORMATION OVERSEAS
To the extent that Saxo Markets may need to transfer Personal Data outside of Singapore (such as for data storage, data management and/or consolidation purposes), whether to our parent company, group companies, business partners or third-party service providers or to data storage facilities, we shall do so in accordance with the PDPA and ensure that the standard of protection provided to Personal Data so transferred is comparable to the protection required under the PDPA.
(D) CONSENT
Saxo Markets, including its employees, directors and representatives, is required by law to keep Personal Data private and confidential. Except as set out in this Privacy Policy, we will not collect, use or disclose Personal Data without your consent, unless such collection, use or disclosure is otherwise permitted under applicable law.
Generally, where Saxo Markets requests Personal Data in the course of providing you with a service and/or product, and you provide such Personal Data to us, your provision of the Personal Data constitutes consent for us to collect, use and disclose that Personal Data for the purpose of providing the requested service and/or product.
In certain circumstances, and where required under applicable law, we will seek your express consent when collecting your Personal Data, in particular where fresh consent is required for a new purpose for which your Personal Data will be used.
Where you provide Personal Data relating to a third party (including, but not limited to, information relating to your spouse, children and/or parents), you represent and warrant that the consent of such third party has been obtained for the collection, use and/or disclosure of the Personal Data for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. Please note that, depending on the nature of your withdrawal request, withdrawing consent may affect the manner in which Saxo Markets is able to provide its services and/or products to you. Depending on the complexity of your request and the impact on our relationship with you, we may require reasonable period of time to process your request and to notify you of the consequences of acceding to such request, including any legal consequences which may affect your rights and liabilities to us.
(E) RETENTION
Personal Data will be retained for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required or permitted by applicable law. Saxo Markets will cease to retain Personal Data, or remove the means by which Personal Data can be associated with you, as soon as it is reasonable to assume that the purpose for which that Personal Data was collected is no longer valid and retention is no longer necessary for legal or business purposes.
(F) ACCURACY, ACCESS AND CORRECTION
Saxo Markets is committed to ensuring that your Personal Data in our possession or control is accurate and kept up to date, where reasonably possible. You may request to access, correct or update your Personal Data (or business information, in the case of corporate clients) at any time.
To submit a request, please visit Personal Data Requests. Your request will be acknowledged and acted upon within thirty (30) days of receipt. Where we are unable to accede to your request, you will be notified accordingly.
Please note that Saxo Markets may charge an administrative fee for processing your access request. Such a fee depends on the nature and complexity of your access request. Information on the administrative fee will be made available to you.
(G) SECURITY SAFEGUARDS
Saxo Markets has in place various security procedures, technical and organisational measures to safeguard your Personal Data. To protect against external attacks, we have in place robust firewalls and security measures to detect, isolate and prevent against hacking and other malware intrusions to our IT systems.
Further, Saxo Markets employees undergo periodic security awareness programmes so that employees are able to identify and respond appropriately to security risks.
We use all reasonable efforts to safeguard your Personal Data. However, you should be aware that the use of the Internet is not entirely secure and for this reason we cannot guarantee the security or integrity of any Personal Data which is transferred from you or to you via the Internet. (H) EFFECT OF AND UPDATES TO THE PRIVACY POLICY
This Privacy Policy applies in conjunction with any other notices, contractual clauses and consent clauses that apply in relation to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Data by us.
This Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time to ensure that it remains consistent with changes in our business practices, the manner in which we collect, use or disclose Personal Data, or applicable laws and regulations. The updated Privacy Policy will be made available on our website and shall apply from the date it is published. All interactions and dealings with us shall be subject to the latest version of this Privacy Policy in force at the time. We will seek your fresh consent before we collect more Personal Data from you or if we wish to use or disclose your Personal Data for new purposes.

This Privacy Policy has been drafted solely in accordance with the laws of Singapore. We do not represent or warrant that this Privacy Policy complies with the privacy laws of any other jurisdiction and accordingly, you shall not construe this Privacy Policy as such.
(K) EUROPEAN UNION GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (EU GDPR)
In certain circumstances, Saxo Markets may be subject to obligations under the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (“EU GDPR”) in respect of specific individuals or processing activities. As part of the Saxo Bank Group, Saxo Markets works in conjunction with Saxo Bank A/S to adopt the appropriate internal and external data protection policies where such obligations apply.
