Frequently asked questions

It’s simple. Just open an account with Saxo and you’ll automatically join our loyalty programme, for no extra charge. Your initial deposit will determine which account tier you join first. You can then start earning reward points to upgrade your status.

All you need to do is open an account, add funds and start trading - you’ll collect points automatically.

If you're a new client, your initial deposit will determine which account tier we place you in first. To qualify for an upgrade, you’ll need to earn a specific number of reward points, defined by the tier you want to join. We base qualification to a tier on the number of points you’ve earned this month, and in the three previous months.

For example, any points earned in January will not be included in the points total from 1 May.

During the first 30 days from the first funding of your Saxo account, you’ll earn points based on the net value of your cash deposits and security transfers.

First 30 days net funding
If, for example, you deposit EUR 1,000 during your first 30 days, you will earn 600 points. If you withdraw funds during this period, we’ll reduce your points balance accordingly.

First 30 days security transfers
Security transfers will earn you the same amount of points as cash deposits. For example, transferring securities worth EUR 1,000 into your account will also earn you 600 points. If you transfer securities out of your account during the first 30 days, we’ll reduce your points balance accordingly.

We’ll recalculate your points total at the end of each day, so you can easily monitor your balance.

Note: Total AuM (apart from your net funding and securities transfers) will not contribute to your points total during this initial, 30-day period.

After your first 30 days with us, you’ll continue to earn points for the funds held in your Saxo account. However, this is based on your total average assets under management (AuM), rather than your cash balance. AuM refers to the total value of your account, including any cash and open positions.

Your points will be based on your monthly average AuM, and we’ll credit them to your account two trading days before the end of each month. For example, an average AuM of EUR 10,000 will earn you 250 points each month.

Note: We will not include AuM in our points calculations during your first 30 days with us. During this period we will consider net funding and security transfers, as outlined above.

You can earn points for executed trades. The number of points you earn depends on the product you trade and the size of your trade. Certain products earn you more points than others, as shown in the table above.

If you withdraw any funds or transfer securities out of your account during your first 30 days, we’ll reduce your points balance accordingly.

We’ll recalculate your points total at the end of each day so you can easily monitor your balance.
