Dip buyers: Most bought and sold shares last week
The most bought and sold stocks last week.
The Nasdaq suffered a 4.5% decline last week amid a broad pullback in some of the biggest momentum stocks and just about anything related to the AI buildout as pessimism about the sector grew. Semiconductors were down 11% for the week while Tech fell about 6% as the S&P 500 declined 2% for the week as investors turned their focus to the likelihood that the AI capex cycle may be peaking.
But Saxo UK clients were buying the dip. Micron, one of the big memory stocks at the heart of the selloff and a 12% decliner for the week, attracted the most interest and 62% buys.
Nvidia followed as the next most traded stock with 64% buys, followed by SpaceX, which had a 62% buy ratio.
Whilst clients were sellers of two key hyperscalers, Microsoft (35% buys) and Meta (43% buys), they were buying dips in some of the worst-hit AI-related hardware and semis names like Intel, CoreWeave, AMD, SanDisk and Nebius.
