Saxo Bank renews sponsorship of Danish GP2 driver Marco Sørensen
Saxo Bank has sponsored Marco Sørensen since 2014 and has pledged its support until at least the end of 2015.
Sørensen switched to GP2 from Formula Renault 3.5 Series mid last season and achieved his maiden GP2 victory in October 2014.
Lars Seier Christensen, co-CEO and co-founder, Saxo Bank A/S said, “At the heart of Saxo Bank is a passionate commitment to empowering opportunities. We have a long tradition of supporting Danish talent with international ambitions. Sponsoring sports such as motor racing and cycling not only gives us marketing exposure but an opportunity to offer clients something very special.
“At the same time, these sports are the embodiment of Saxo Bank’s core values reflecting the bank’s passion for winning and endurance. Marco is the model candidate to have our backing. He is determined and has the discipline and talent to reach his ambitious goals and can inspire and enrich a whole generation. We wish Marco all the best for the 2015 season and are looking forward to following him with our clients.”
Marco Sørensen said, “Saxo Bank’s support is fundamental. It’s great to get the recognition for something you have fought so hard for, and Saxo Bank’s support gives me even more motivation to achieve my goals. This is going to be an exciting year for all of us”.
This renewed sponsorship of Marco Sørensen marks a continuation of Saxo Bank’s allegiance with the sporting world. The bank entered a one-year business partnership with Lotus F1 team in 2014 and it has sponsored the UCI ProTour cycling team Tinkoff-Saxo and Riis Cycling (now Tinkoff Sport) since 2008.
