Summary:  Nvidia Earnings ahead as Tesla defies gravity

Good morning,

The next morning Brew will be on Monday the 2nd of June.

US stocks surged at the start of the week, boosted by lower yields. The S&P 500 rose 2%, the Dow increased 1.8%, and the Nasdaq 100 climbed 2.4%. Tesla rose 6.5% after Elon Musk announced he would focus more on his companies and displayed unhappiness with Trumps spending bill. The sales decline in Europe was ignored by traders. Nvidia gained 3% ahead of  earnings tonight.

Dax hit all time highs again yesterday after Charu wrote on the better valuation and opportunities – not sure if there was a direct causation.

US Yields declined and are holding below key resistances, the Japanese 30 Year jumped on another bad auction.

The USD Index is near 100 again at 99.75, EURUSD is 1.1305, GBPUSD 1.3470 and USDJPY 144.30. Gold and Silver remain in mid-range at 33.15 and 3300.

The Swiss National Bank expects Inflation to go negative meaning we need to expect negative rates in the near future.

Bitcoin and Ethereum are stable at 108600 and 2620.

President Donald Trump's administration has ordered its missions abroad to stop scheduling new appointments for student and exchange visitor visa applicant

Headlines:

  • Japan's struggling Nissan is considering raising more than 1 trillion yen ($7 billion) from debt
  • Stellantis has appointed Antonio Filosa as its new CEO
  • The US will be grated a “Golden Share” in the US Steel takeover.

Todays highlight is the Nvidia earning and any possible tariff news. Jacobs take on Nvidia is here . Remember that you can trade US Shares in the extended trading hours if you choose to do so. The extended hours go from 13-23 CET.

Tomorrow`s GDP release is of interest, much of Europe will be off tomorrow so we could see low liquidity. Friday we expect the US PCE. The larger question remains if the positive mood persists and we reach new all time highs for the S&P??

Trade safely!!
